Hello fellow Pokémon Trainers of all kinds!

Welcome to Staying Safe on Trainers of Pallet! This is a guide to show you how to have fun on the forum and to stay safe at the same time.
We want to make sure that this information is stated clearly to all of our Trainers and that this information proves useful. We hope that everyone understands the basics of internet safety, but we just want to make sure everyone on T.O.P is a safe Pokémon Trainer!

You are probably thinking, "Geez, another internet safety article I have to read?" We require ALL TRAINERS to read this guide due to the fact that there are so many cases of cyber-bullying. We want our trainers to be safe!

What is Cyber-Bullying?

Did you know that the primary cyber bullying location where victimizing occurs is in chat rooms (56%)?
That is A LOT of bullying out there!

According to CyberBullying.us , cyber bullying is described as "willful and repeated harm inflicted through the medium of electronic text." That means that someone can pressure, threaten or bully you on the internet. When we are being bullied, it makes us uncomfortable and makes us not want to come back to where that mean person (or bully) is. A cyber bully can also do these very mean things to make you tell them your personal information. Your personal information is:
  • Your real, full name
  • Your age
  • Your full address (for example: 1234 South Pokémon Road Pallet Town, Kanto 12345)
  • Your phone number (home number or cellular phone number)
  • What school you go to (for example: Poké Elementary, Pokémon Academy High School)

Your parents are the best people to talk about what information is safe to give to people on the internet. Please talk to them about what kinds of your personal information can be given out!

We do not reccommend giving out your last name, address, phone number or school. It is simply not safe to give out your personal information to a stranger online.

What do I do if I am being cyber-bullied?

If you are being bullied by someone on the T.O.P forum or anywhere else on the internet, take action! We don't want any bullies in our fourm because it can hurt you and other Pokémon trainers here!

Here is what you do if someone is cyber-bullying you:

  • Tell a parent. Your parents need to know that you are being cyber-bullied and who is bullying you! If you tell your parents, they can do something about it.
  • Report the bully to our staff! We NEED to know if you are being cyber-bullied by a member on T.O.P forum. If you tell us about who is bullying you and what they are saying to you, we can take action and BAN the member from the forum. That means we can delete the member from the forum so they don't bother you again.

What if another Pokémon Trainer tells me that they are being cyber-bullied?

If another Pokémon Trainer tells you about someone who is cyber-bullying them, they might be afraid to tell anyone else. It's your job to tell us, (the Pokémon Elites), about your friend who is being bullied. We will make sure to take care of your friend and the situation.

What if I am caught cyber-bullying someone?

We certainly hope that you aren't cyber-bullying another Pokémon Trainer! If you are caught cyber-bullying someone else, you will automatically ban you from T.O.P forums. If you are banned, you are not allowed to create a new account on here.

We want everyone on T.O.P forum to be safe! Being safe can be fun! Remember, always tell someone if you are being cyber-bullied.

Thank you for reading this guide, Pokémon Trainers! Stay safe!
